What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Please shoot me if I even reach 1/10th of what she has posted.

Posting on wikivorce long term must be like being a full time marriage guidance counsellor.

Congratulations, Had, and a very huge thank you too!

In addition to all the valuable advice and help she gives others on the forum, Had is also responsible for Wikivorce''s Media and Public Relations, a long-standing member of the moderating team, runs her own business, works, a single Mum and always seems busy! (I''m tired just thinking about everything Had does ) How she has the time to write all those posts, I don''t know, but I for one, am very grateful for Had''s very valuable input into Wiki and friendship over the years - she is a true Wiki Star

Its thanks to the work, input and time by people like Had who stay on Wiki long after their own divorce has ended to help others, impart the knowledge that they have learned along the way (often the hard way :() that makes Wikivorce what it is, and ensures that those like yourself, James, who come here looking for advice, support and information can get that (for free). Without these valuable contributors, who could quite rightly leave Wiki after everything has been finalised for them, Wiki would not be as it is today, and people wouldn''t be able to receive the help and support they need.
