What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Final goodbye

Just had to have my dog put to sleep, 141/2 years old. First present stbx bought me when we were so full of hope for our future together.
Overwhelmed with loss for poor dog and also for what could have been, but perhaps was never meant to be.
Lovely little golden cocker spaniel, such a great friend, I shall miss him.
Just feeling so sad with the finality of the descision & all the divorce stress ongoing, feel like shouting give me a break! I''m sure the sadness will pass, just right now all a bit too much to bear

Aww Tink, I''m so sorry :(

Forget about the divorce stuff for a while, and allow yourself some time to grieve over your beloved dog.

I had to have my 16yo cat put to sleep just months after the separation, and I know how tough it is.

Sending you a big hug, and hope you are ok

I also had to put my faithful partner down 2
months ago,a Blue roan Cocker,he was my total support through my split, but to my dying day,I truly believe that he became so desperatly ill because of a broken heart, just another who worshipped his Dad !!!
I think of him everyday, and especially when I log on here.
RIP Afonleas xx

Take care Tink
Thinking of you

I really feel for you Tink.

Dogs just don''t live long enough IMO but 14 and a half is a good doggie innings though...

Still really miss by two labradors: I didn''t have any suitable home for them when I moved out of the FMH so foolishly trusted my stbx to look after them for a bit...managed to rent a dog friendly place pretty quickly but my lovely wife had ''re-housed'' them by then...she refuses to tell me where they went so I''m not sure if they were put down or not...

In a way despite all the misery the humans involved in our break up are going through I think my poor dogs have suffered the most...
