What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Suggestion for a charity to donate to

I''ve been given a fairly large amount of money for Christmas from a family member, with the attached request that I donate a proportion of it to charity (or charities).

I don''t want to donate to a large charity like Macmillan, British Heart Foundation, Help for Heroes etc, as they get lots of people working hard for them for donations already. I''d prefer to support a smaller charity who perhaps wouldn''t have as much support awareness and support.

If anybody has any suggestions for me to consider then they would be gratefully received.

Is there a local charity that has perhaps helped you or a family member?

Local charities are always grateful for donations, and it''s really nice to see the difference those charities make in your own area, and see that your donation is being put to good use for the benefit of others.

I will pm you a few suggestions :)

There''s a local charity that everyone should donate to it''s called

The we don''t think His Royal Hawayness should spend Xmas on a park bench after giving away a free house to the ex harridan charity.

All donations will be spent down the nearest Wetherspoons. As it is a non profit making organisation.

All the best

Below is a link to the charity that my employer supports. The lady who set it up, Diana Watt, lost her 16 year old daughter to leukaemia and set up the charity to help others.

I met Diana who both joined us in a 5 mile charity run a few years ago - a lovely, impressive woman who has been through much but does not dwell on her own misfortune.

In work we decided to not send xmas cards again this year, and over the years we donated money instead to the bigger charities.

We also thought of helping the smaller ones, and we settled on the
Cleft Pallete Society,another worthy cause.

Although a very hard decision to make U6,but how lovely that you have been given that choice, restores our faith in humanity:)

Luv and cwtchs
