What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Hi Ruby!

I saw Shelia''s reference to the 7th Birthday of Ian''s excellent idea and sincerely congratulate you all, those who were here at the beginning and those who came later and stayed, for all the effort and time you have and are putting in, but most of all I thank you on behalf of all the people that have found comfort, solace, friendship and sound advice here for the soul that you breathed into Wiki to give it life.

I wish you, Ian, Hadenough, Dukey, the formidable Fiona, Tets, Forseti, LittleMrMike, Hawaythelads, Stuka and everyone who was and is active, not just all the Very Best but also many more years of success. One day the divorce process of 2007 will be seen as having been barbaric - and that will be in no small part due to Wikivorce and all the people who made it happen.

Good Luck and God speed my friends!

Thank you Ruby. And thank you Ian. I was fascinated to read all this and to see the old web page.

I read about wikivorce in a popular women''s magazine and raced to the computer ....

Happy 7th birthday wikivorce. In that time thousands of people have been supported through the awful experience of divorce, thanks to the vision and determination of one man. An amazing achievement. Thank you Ian.

Whilst the divorce statistics are alarming, that literally thousands of people have found support and comfort from the wiki volunteers is an amazing figure too.

To all the wikis who gave and continue to give their time to simply helping others, thank you!

Happy birthday WV. I remember the start of WV. Me and a few others were on a site called "wife''s gone" and the Divorce Calculator was advertised there. So I thought why not? So I joined. I have gone and and come back a few times over the years from WV. But I have always gravitated back as I am kind of drawn to reading some really good peoples posts here and getting inspiration from them.

But I still remember the all night sessions in (old chat) well before new chat was ever thought of and all the tough advice I got when I joined. Seems like a long time 7 years. But WV got me thru and I am still here.

Long may it continue. It goes from strength to strength and must have helped thousands of people over the years thru some very difficult times. I am proud that I am a part of a very useful institution. I wonder where it will be in another 7 years... C.
