please recommend me a company to try...i''ve been told that I can only have a policy in my name only if i live in the home i''m trying to insure. I don''t live in my former marital home, so what company will give me a quote on this basis?
When you were both living there I presume you had buildings insurance ? Could you not just keep that policy going and explain to the insurance company you still own the property but currently do t reside there.
Have you been given an idea of how long this problem is going to take to get resolved? If you own the property there''s no reason you can''t get building insurance - I don''t own the property I live in a relative does they have buildings insurance on the property I pay for contents insurance.
There is never any issue for them getting building insurance or hasn''t been as far as I''m aware??
I would ring the company that the buildings was insured with when it was the MH and explain that you''re temporarily not living there but want it insured still just for buildings and tell them you''re the owner.
The issue is that for ''normal'' cover, the residence has to be your main one. If you don''t meet this condition, you wills struggle to find even standard cover, unless you go down the specialist landlord like cover route.
