What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

I don''t know what I would have done without Wikivorce, it has helped me considerably both emotionally and financially. I must have ''served'' about 3 years on this site and been through most areas of divorce. Still not completely over as going to a CSA tribunal soon and some loose ends to tie up from the Final Hearing so here is to the next 8 years!

Gosh 8 years!! I joined in May 2007 - which now feels like a lifetime ago..thankfully!
The early days were truly dreadful,ex walked out without so much as a note, recovering from a year in and out of hospital and treatment for cancer, new job and a new house due complete renovation and two young children. I thought my life was over, sometimes wishing it was. Wikivorce was and is amazing, peer support has made such a difference.
I remember back to many sleepless nights and using chat, having a laugh, sharing stories, supporting one another and not forgetting the quiz.
All these years later my children have grown up one graduated and the other in his first year in uni. Kept the house, finished the renovations and 5 years ago fell in love with my neighbour - we get married in September.
Life is different to what I thought it would be - would I have the old life back? No, never!
Thanks Wikivorce members and team, truly amazing!!

Blimey. 8 years. Seems like yesterday. But well done WV community and Iain for having the vision to put it up in the first place.

Can I say this site changed my life? I would say yes. Its a place I am drawn to and I know I have left and come back a few times but hey. I am still here.

Here''s to the next 8 years. Well done WV. Marshy.

Wikivorce is a wonderful site, well done all of you! We have nothing like it in Australia, although our legal and real estate processes seem a little simpler. The comfort and support from others who''ve been / are going through the same emotional roller coaster is priceless.
