Soup was created by AngieP
Undecided whether should be on here or a blog but decided to put on here a la potatoes post.

After two extremely lethargic days in which I have just been unable to get going hit on the idea of making some soup. Remember reading about an Irish writer who found baking helped her when she was feeling down. Whilst very appealing I know that the adverse effect on my waistline would, eventually, make me feel even worse.

Benefits of making soup - you can hide a few tears whilst chopping the onions, can think whatever you want whilst chopping the veg and now have a couple of days worth of cheap, healthy and nutritious lunches.:)

Soup is nourishing and comforting and you can use leftovers in it.

I used to make a rather unhealthy soup, with bacon fried and put to one side, and then grated potatoes stirred into the bacon fat, added milk and cooked until potatoes were soft, when I added the bacon on top. Very filling.

My favourite soup is carrot and coriander with a bit of celery.
