What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My husband left me recently. He wants to start new life! We have been married for 9 years. We don't have children together. He wants to sell the house which is on joint name, I don't have anywhere to go, and I do not have money to keep it.
He was sole earner last 4 yrs. I do not earn anything, although I'm registered as self-employed. Please tell me do I have any rights in this situation?

More details are required if we are to help. Ages, your husband's income, the values of the property & mortgage, pensions, investments and/or savings, loans, credit cards, anything valuable such as an art collection, race horses etc.
