What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

First post for Nonymouse, Never wanted to be in this predicament, always thought maturity would prevail, alas is hasn''t and doesn''t appear that it ever will.

No way to talk or text or email the ex about kids (nothing else to discuss now) without false accusations of harassment and police turning up at home on exes whim. Surely using the police in this way is a form of harassment in itself. The police do not appear to even be checking to find out content of text/emails before they visit.

What can be done please

Hi and welcome to wiki nonymouse.

Sorry you find yourself here and hopefully someone can help with your questions.

Have you spoken to the police to ask how you protect yourself from these false claims?

Are you keeping a record of the emails and texts?

I would think the only thing you can do is keep all text and emails neutral and child centred.

Hi Nonymouse & welcome to wiki!

The Police should require evidence of any allegations. Without this, there should be little they can do.

Emails/texts are ALL child centered. Have learnt how to correctly ''request'' things or bits of information directly about kids. However: depending on mood of ex or whether its decided the content of the ''request'' is not to exes liking. Then ''boom'' the police arrive expecting a notice of harassment to be signed. Now ex involving partner of 3 yrs, not new so no reason for spite. Police arrive with No proof of any harassment just a ''its harassment'' from the ex. This has been going on for quite a while. Had enough. Need to stop it. How?

If I were you I''d have a chat with the Police - tell them this and ask them what it is you need to do to make it stop.

I can''t understand why they waste their time looking into cases with no evidence :(

I guess not having contact with the ex & partner is an option? Sorry - don''t know what else to offer ...........
