What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Hi there,

I''m new to this site and just thought I''d say hello. I''m a 30 year old mother of 3 and a student. I seperated from my husband 4 months ago after 13 years together and we are just about to start divorce proceedings.
Totally new to all this and not so sure about the emotional rollercoaster ahead! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Welcome to Wikivorce, MsDee, although I''m sorry you have a need to be here.
Our supportive community will be able to offer you lots of practical and emotional support as well as guiding you through the maze of the divorce process itself.

We have a resources library packed full of useful information, a warm and welcoming chat-room (which tends to be busier during the evening), a blogging area where members can share their journeys, and the forum (which you have already found) for asking any questions you will have.
