What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Just checking the paperwork for my STBX business accounts as suggested by our Mediator. I always knew they would be on the creative side but was pretty stunned to see that he has included a receipt for condoms bought when he was having his 'inappropriate relationship'. He wouldn't admit adultery. Laughing out very loud. Can't work out if he is as thick as s_ _ t or thinks I am!

Mumtoboys - I seriously intend to bring it up at mediation along with all the other disallowable expenses - the list is endless.

stukadivebomber - a business he's going to regret being in when I've finished with him!

It gets funnier - just found receipt for books on self help divorce and also one on successful internet dating - all set against his business account. The Mediator is going to just love it!

Keep going - you are making me laugh soo much!

My son told me he found condoms in the van's dash when "H" asked him for a pad to write a message on.

"Oh mum", he said, "Why are you still using condoms? You said you were past the change!"

In shock at the time, I hadn't an answer, and suggested they were a mate's.

Now I'd say he's trying to protect himself from any sexual disease he may pick up, or prevent child number 3! (Numbers one and two are mine!).
