What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I have put this in Jokes and Humour but this actually happened this morning.
The ex phones we at 11.00 am, this is unusual, why is she phoning now.
Asks how the eldest son is as he has been ill. She hasn''t shown much interest up to now. Chats about a few other things then says can I give her ..........
I couldn''t understand what she said and she prattled on about something else.
I asked her to repeat herself and she said could I give her some money as she was skint.
Asked her to repeat herself as I thought that I just heard ask me for some money. Yes money, I''m skint, you know how it is.
Well funnily enough I knew exactly how it was, she spent 2 years doing her best to bunkrupt me during the divorce.
So b/f number 3 is obviously no more.
She managed to keep me for 13 years how come she can''t hang on to to a her cash supplier, I mean b/f for more than a few months.
I guess I was more of a mug or maybe in marriage a husband has just too much too lose.
The cheek of the woman. I estimate she owes me £15000 in CSA payments she managed to get out of due to her cash in hand life style.
No that as come back to haunt her because with no proper job now she can''t claim all those benefits.
I really shouldn''t laugh
