What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Ok so yet again the harridan texts me on her favourite subject extracting more money.

Heres the texts for your amusements so that you all know even 6 years on divorce is the gift that just keeps on giving

3.03 ex harridan to me
Daughter asked if she could go on the watersports trip next year.I said she could go on one trip like Son did.It costs £710.Would you pay half?

3.29 Me to ex harridan
Sorru not able to pay towards the trip I am not even covering my living costs nowadays.

3.32 Ex harridan to me
It''s next year and can be paid in instalments.I would ask you to reconsider as I thinks its only fair.
I WILL HAVE TO FIND MY HALF SOMEHOW !!!!!

3.42 Me to ex harridan
Well the £300k divorce settlement for you and your fella to buy my house for £90k will be a good place to start looking.
Don''t bother me about extra money and play the guilt card when you two leave the kids home alone 5 nights a week and have more holidays than Judith Chalmers on the other £4800 a year you are pocketing off me tax free.

3.54 ex harridan to me
I''m not really prepared to entertain these stupid texts! I was just seeing if daughter could go on the school trip.
Suggest you let her know tonight she can''t go because you won''t pay half.

4.04 me to ex harridan
She can go just you won''t adjust your lifestyle or spending on yourself to accomodate it.

4.44 ex harridan to me
As I said not interested in your comments.Just be fair to daughter she is a good kid and works hard at school.I have paid the £100 deposit online today.

Another load of bollox!!!

All the best
HRH xx

In all honesty will I pay.......I already have and continue to do so.
But here''s the rub.

I take home £1500 a month
Rent £ 800 a month
CM I pay £ 400 a month
Council tax £ 100 a month
utilities £ 110 a month
Phone Tv it £ 50 a month

Now I''m no Carol Vorderman but I really am not covering my living costs.
There is already no money left there.
I''m having to cover all my transport food and the cost when the kids are with me out of savings.

But she lives with whatever hes called - so she must be sharing expenses.

My ex earns in excess of £2000 - is forced to pay 15% of his income via CSA, lives in a caravan with his girlfriend and neither sees our daughters or helps them at all in any way shape or form - used to pay mobiles, but doesn''t anymore.

£800 is alot of rent - could you not buy a house, mortgage surely would cost less?
