What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Well folks, after 18 months or ''argey bargey'' and solicitors bills we finally sat down and discussed, sensibly, some finances.

Didn''t want the world, didn''t want the house sold, although i haven''t admitted it dont even want pension (but that is a bargaining point so will hang on in there for time being), doubt what i want will even make it a 50/50 in my favour but life needs living so lets get on and be done.

And we sent a JOINT, yes, you read it here first dear wikis, a JOINT letter to our solicitors outlining our starting point.

OH YES, joyfull, court costs receeding (at least for present) and moving on in life beckoning.

Then i read today''s horoscope: The important thing you need to keep in mind now, is that you can''t have it all your own way. Nor can you hope to end up with everything you want.

The BIG question now is - do i believe that????? :(

Good question, but is it about the glass being half full, half empty or who is paying for the next round? :)

Upside of that attitude Julie is that if you expect nothing and get nothing you are not disappointed but if you do get anything at all it is a very pleasant bonus - best of both worlds ........

I am a Taurus and do read horoscopes but can''t see how everyone with the same star sign can have the same thing happen to them.

I look at it that way too Downland not many pleasant bonuses come my way though lol
