What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Just thought I would write a little note this morning.
Today I started decorating MY bedroom, to MY colours.
Something I have not done for so many years.
In fact it probably goes back to when i was 21, I am 46 now.
hen i bought my first house, I went with green, you remember those apple white colours.
Green curtains.
Those curtains travelled to nottingham with me and again bedroom was similar.
Ashamedly they stayed until my ex moved in when i was 37, after we built the extension obviously the whole house was decorated, i didn''t have a hand in that.
Since then lived in a couple of places and made do, now, I have my own house, at last I am once again decorating my bedroom. I have decided on browns, chocolates, don''t ask why, i think its a serene, peaceful colour and warming, homely, comforting.
Curains came this morning from 247 curtains so just put them up and pinning up the wallpaper samples I got, the one i originally liked and hoped for doesn''t really go with the curtains i got, but my son once discovered these samples under my bed, you know what the one he likes best, matches best, so i think i will be going with that sample.

Its so exciting in a way and just thought i would write about tit as its a bit of a milestone for me.

I separated from my ex October 2010 and in 2011 I bought new furniture for my bedroom - as they say out with the old in with the new and felt a whole lot better for it. Also just after our separation I completely painted my living room in Jasmine White (previously a peachy colour) and also bought a brand new leather 3 seater and 2 seater settee. Best thing I ever did. Hopefully to start divorce preceedings real soon :-)
