What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi there everyone

Well after meeting the police, rejecting their kind offer of accepting a caution, I now find that the CPS are going to issue me a summons to appear in court.

I''ll be speaking to a criminal solicitor about this of course but I wondered if anyone else has been on the receiving end of false allegations of this nature?

My ex REALLY thinks she can get away with ANYTHING.....

It is Better For 100 Guilty Men to Go Free Than One Innocent Man Go To Prison ...

now some smarty pants is going to tell me who said that ...but I firmly believe it to be true, can you afford to defend yourself, she may be trying to build a case.

Live and learn by this try not to be alone with your ex have witnesses around who can state what has happened, in case she tries this again.

I''ll find the money from somewhere: I already owe my civil solicitor thousands though!

The stupid thing is I have not actually spoken to my ex for over a year, nor been in the FMH! She has ignored all correspondence from my solicitor as well. She has taken ''offence'' at some text messages that imply she has some nefarious habits that are illegal: this information can be checked by the police straight away to see if it is true or not. At this stage they are choosing not to though.....

Have an appointment with a criminal solicitor tomorrow to discuss the way forward: it will be interesting to see what his take is on the Police being seemingly uninterested in pursuing my (true and proveable) allegations into my ex''s illegal activities but happy to pursue my ex''s ''harrassment'' allegation...

An update if anyone is interested: my solicitor is writing to CPS to offer an undertaking that I will not ''harrass'' my now ex wife (thank god): shouldn''t be too much of a problem cos I hope I never have to see or speak to the woman ever again....apart from the next time we meet in court of course....

Think the police must of had a recent training course telling them they mustn''t ignore any claims of harassment from a woman regarding former partner, because I have heard of a couple of men who recently have spend time in a police station due to ''''claims of harassment'''' which have turned out to be false and not lead to any charges and been dismissed.

Those who cry wolf make it so much harder for the real victims of domestic violence.
