What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

What are the repurcussions to the women who make these allegations? It doesnt seem fair to put someone under such intentional durress and be free to do so?

Sorry QPranger but is this the first time the police have been involved. Speaking from experience they should issue a first course conduct order which they can issue with out any evidence. If you then go on to breach that order you can then be arrested and evidence is taken into consideration. Or that is what I understood maybe all police work different obviously it sounds a bit more complicated for you particularly if it has been passed to the CPS.
For harassment to be proven the harasser should be aware that their actions could cause alarm and distress.
Sorry i know that doesn''t help your situation and may be totally wrong but this is what I was advised.
Good Luck

Repurcussions? None as far as I can see...

Some people are masters of manipulation and the law is easily manipulated from my experiences in the last year....

Not blaming the police they have to follow up the allegations, but maybe if the allegation is found to be false then the police should give the person making false allegation a warning.

Getting Stronger: no I had a nice telephone conversation with a policeman in April when I was advised my stbx wanted all contact via solicitors. I pointed out she had lost her legal aid and no longer HAD a solicitor which threw the fellow a bit. I have not been issued ANY written warning or order from the police....EVERY letter sent by my solicitor to her (at a nice cost to me) was ignored, and by June I could no longer afford a solicitor either...

Hi QP, sorry to hear all this. If you like or if it helps, you can pm me - I can tell you a bit more about Protection from Harrassment Act. There is a place for this law, but is subject to abuse, so yes, mightily unfair on you. Hope this helps. Shame about the relegation, eh!
