Trying to decide if I should revert back to my Maiden Name.
Was married for 11 years, separated for 1, now divorced for 10 years and I kept my married name for simplicity's sake whilst my son has gone through school. Really couldn't be bothered with explanations/raised eyebrows arising from having a child with a different surname.
My son is now 16yo, at college and he's OK with me changing my name.
I know it's masses of paperwork and I don't think I need to do a Deed Poll (but maybe I should after so many years!?!)
Curious to know others experiences of changing their name ten years on? Read somewhere that it's challenging travelling with a minor whose name is different from your own.
Oh and I quite like being a Mrs, but that's not right alongside my Maiden Name, too old for Miss, don't like Ms, can I use Mz (I just made it up!!)?

Not really that much paperwork. Probably take a couple of months before you have got every organisation to get it right but once it's done it's done.

If you want to use the title Mrs. why not?

Not sure why travelling with a minor with a different surname would be an issue. A lot of people with children don't marry or if they do don't change their name. At 16 how many times are you likely to travel with your son anyway?
