What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi all,

Well things have improved for me over the last year. I went back to college to study everything equine and go back again in September for round two. Got to say it has been the best thing I ever did. I''m hoping that after this year I''ll be able to do the degree too. Not only that but I have been given a gorgeous yearling colt in payment for bringing his mother back into work (I still can''t get my head round being paid for doing something I love!!!). Horses have been my saviours and I am feeling that calm happiness I haven''t felt for years. I know I will still have (and do have) bad days but I can accept that and deal with them as they happen - I go hug a horse and the world seems brighter. I have also decided that any man coming into my life has to work for it, I''m not about to give up this freedom and fun, and this has definitely empowered me in a big way.
