PM quota was created by elizadoolittle
Hello all

Thanks for everything and everyone on this site - it has become quite an addiction!

Maybe it''s because you all want people like me to switch off the computer and go and get the paperwork sorted (!) but I have just come up against the PM quota and been told yesterday that I couldn''t send any more. Please can you let me (and others) know what the limit is so that we can ration ourselves? Thanks.

Also, I know it has come up before but some of the acronyms are new to me and although I have seen a library referred to as a way of finding out what they mean, I haven''t been able to find it.

Thanks x

Eliza,

Members can send a maximum of ten private messages in a 24 hour period. There is a limit, not because we want "people to switch off the computer and go and get the paperwork sorted", but as an anti-spam measure to stop spammers sending out hundreds of unsolicited private messages.

What are the acronyms you are are unsure of? maybe I can help with that.

Ruth

Thanks Ruth

Only kidding about the paperwork, but thanks for letting me know the number.

Can''t think of any unknown acronyms right now, but if there is a directory somewhere, could you let me know where it is and from what others have said, it may be useful to make it easy to find onsite at any time. There''s not only all the legally specific ones relating to forms etc (it took me ages to work out LIP) but OP (I guess original poster), DS seems to mean a son etc etc. A list in alphabetical order that is easy to reference while reading would be really helpful.
But that is a small gripe - as you can tell I am finding the site and all the people on it an invaluable source of support.

Thanks

Eliza for a long time I didn''t have a clue what stbx meant until someone told me ''soon to be ex''.

Snap - same problem with pm daily limit yesterday.

Ruth I know it is an anti-spam measure but could it be increased to poss 12-15?

I will open up a discussion with the rest of Team Wiki, Abso, regarding the PM limit; I can''t think of a good enough reason to not increase the current limit to 15 or 20 per day.

I''m going to start a new thread for acronyms, as I don''t think we have a list of those used on the forum :s

Thanks - I''ve seen your list of acronyms. Is there a way of making it easily accessible in future? It may just be me, but I only tend to see things when they are recent posts. Could there be a button for a list of acronyms, or could it be listed under the help button? Just an idea.

Eliza,

I''ve stickied the acronyms thread, so that it appears at the top of the Technical Support forum area, and should be easy to find - www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Divorce-Advice/Technical-Support/
