whats happened

is it me or has this website changed its web page when you log on?? it does not show who is logging on anymore...do any of you have the same???

The shoutbox has been taken off the front page.

It served a few purposes:

1) To flash messages about who logged on / who sent & accepted friend invites etc.

2) To allow people to instant message / broadcast the whole site

3) As a way to 'invite someone to chat'

I did always kinda like it. It gave the site a feeling of activity. But after some consideration, it has been taken off for a few reasons:

1) A couple of people expressed some concern over privacy, i.e. it was a bit Big Brotherish to publicise everytime two people formed a friend link.

2) There have been a few instances of spam (including some porn links) by robotic software broadcasting messages to the site using the shoutbox. It was a little worrying that anyone can instantly publish a message to the sites home page. 99% of people used it as intended. But even occasional obscenities etc published direct to home page are not good.

3) The chat room has been getting pretty busy by itself lately and so the 'invite to chat' purpose of the shoutbox
became a little redundant.
