What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi i am going through with the finincial settlment. I was married for 3 years, my ex is a house wife and has never worked and there is 1 child aged 3 1/2.
I have three properties all with mortgages and my wife want 230k to buy a house for her which would be her's 100%.
I have offered her 125k and she has refused my offer and i have also collected lots of evidence that she is co-habiting. The total asset available if the properties are sold and capital gains tax paid would be about 240K.
She could live in one of the properties but she refuses to live in there because my parent also live on the same street. ( all my properties on one small street.

Unfortiunaltly i have a job/contractor and i can earn about 50K a year, but i have now resigned from job due to the pressures and dont know when or if i wll find a job with such a good salary.

What do you think will be the likely outcome if a judge makes a decision.
