What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My wife and I have informally agreed to a gross split of the sale of the FMH 24% in my favour

This is the only asset we own, and so should be a simple matter of just turnung it into a format acceptable by the courts.

Question is what format do the courts accept, I have no wish to use sols as all they say is it is a very complicated document to draw up, but they would say that so as to get their mitts on hard earned hundreds for doing something that comes naturally to them

Anyone recently done it themselves and was it accepted by the court
