What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi,

I am not able to resolve this matter on my own as my sol. is giving me vague answers and need your help please. Any body can give a rough idea to how much lum sum shal I ask for instead of my supposed maintenance. What happens is that I am offering to stop my maintenance after 5 years when my daughter will finish her full education and her maintenance will stop naturally. hopping that in this time I will finish retraining and I will find a convieniant job (I am unimployed ) .My daughter and my supposed maintenance is 1500 all togather? my x sallary is 3700 per month. How much money do you think it is fair to ask for to stop my maintenance with my daughter maintenance after 5 years knowing that I am 50 years old already and I am not very sure of getting the job in the future but I would prefer to sease any deal with him at that time.
