As my divorce goes on, so is my debt. He is not paying any maintenace to our two children at all. The only way I have been managing for the last five years was to transfer from one interest free transfer credit card to another. It was working very well until last year when I settled my mortgage with one of the high street bank. They in turn decided to default my credit rating with experian & equafax.
So naturally, every credit card I applied for had been turn down. When I asked the bank for a reason, they told me that my acting sol. only negociate for a full and final payment not credit free statues. I was very upset and got my sol to get involved (extra expense)Eventually, the bank took me of default but placed me on the financial associations list.
Anyone in the same/similiar situation please make sure your agreement with the bank is clear and they dont make a boo-boo with your credit rating.
