What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Whne does your legal team bill you and expect payment of their costs?.....I need to await house sale before I can pay mine.... is this normally standard??.... also what happens to costs if the house takes a long time to sell, does interest accrue or are costs due to be paid at Consent Order being stamped up??

Thanks

Hiya. I pay mine off bit by bit. I would check your T's and C's for the firm that you employ. Its my understanding that your solicitor gets a cheque and they deduct the ammount you owe and send you the ballance. Chris
