What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, I''m in the process of signing up with Wikivorce full divorce and financial settlement order and wanted to ensure that the financial settlement service includes drafting legal paperwork that would require me to make a lump sum payment to my ex-wife on grant of Decree Absolute, and then within say a one year time frame a one off payment that would cover off any balance that I was unable to settle on grant of decree Absolute. Also there would be future income from investments that could arise over an indefinite time frame that we would like to split 50/50 as and when such income arose? Would this type of agreement form part of the financial Consent Order document and is this within the scope of the "Full Divorce and Financial Settlement Package" offered by Wikivorce?? Also I need to change ownership of house to my own name via a transfer of equity with the mortgage company, at what stage should this be completed? Would be grateful for any feedback that could be provided..

Sorry xjxs - bump is written on posts that have not had a response - by writing ''bump'' it gets bumped to the top of the list and hopefully someone will spot it and reply :)
