What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

HI - new on here, dont know if you can help.......have a hearinf ro Financial Settlement in August, have date next week to exchange form E, then 2 weeks later, file Statement of Issues etc....I think i know what these are and what I need to do (Form E is done).
I wonder if it might be prudent to get some legal help at this point?
Does anyone know of legal support for this stage in divorce?
I have managed the rest of it mostly without solicitor as have no money, but wonder if I should get help at this last stage for the benefit of my children....

Hi,

Just saw you haven''t had a reply to this post.

Yes, seeking Legal advice is the best thing to do and as you have prepared all the paperwork, you should be able to do this fairly inexpensively.

Good Luck and please keep us updated with what happens!
