What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

He has responded to the divorce petition and says he is agreeable to a Clean Break. Our situation is fairly simple in that we both have our own properties and have never mixed up our financies. I am in the understanding that i need to produce a Consent Order. Not using a solicitor so does any one have an idea where I can gain an example of what is required. I have searched for what form is needed and other than a ''Statement of information for a consent order'' I''m not sure what else is needed.

You can`t write your own order it needs to be a solicitor, i could send you the bare bones of an order but it would be pointless to be honest.

It is such a very important document it must be correct and binding and include all needed clauses, the easy way is to the the wiki service it costs £139 and they complete D81 and deal with the judge, quick easy and cheap.

Thank you. I did call a solicitor who quoted £700; £139 is affordable, thanks again

£600-£800 seems fairly average, personally I like to keep my money which is why I used the wiki service.
