What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi,
Just had an email from the solicitor who handled my divorce.
The judge awarded costs AGAINST my ex of £1,200.
To date he has paid about £300.
With great difficulty and family borrowing I paid my final bill to the firm back in May.
My solicitor now says that if he doesn''t pay I will be liable??!!
I have not got £1,000 and why the hell should I pay HIS BILL ?

W T F IS GOING ON!!
The world is truly mad.

Have emailed her his address/ phone number/works address.

Hi teech

You could take your x to court for the fees, I did for CSA self-reped it cost £90 for the order (cannot remember the number) & if via an attaché,ent to earnings it would be an extra £100 but you can add these to the costs.

Good luck JJx

Teecher, look up money claim on line, I can''t send a link but I''ll try, all they need is £50 and a copy of the order, you get the £50 when they get your money back, this is a government agency so they can be trusted, they also seem to do a very good job.

Ill try and get a link.
