What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hey

Just filling in the form a - do I include all of my bank statements when I take the form to court? I thought this information was exchanged before the first hearing date is received from court? Doesn''t see fair that I share my info first before my ex?

How long will the process take? Approximately obviously ...

Is the fee just £210 and can anyone a recommend a site to run me through all of the legalities?

Is it reasonable and doable to self rep it all without solicitor help? Worried I''m being naive but have no other choice

Thanks in anticipation

You only send the form to start with the exchange of information comes later and is supposed to be simultaneous.

To process the form, varys wildly depending where you are in the country, think around a month.

£240, not sure what you mean run you through the legalities?

Many do in fact numbers around 50% are banded about, you will need to do lots of learning, its not easy.
