I am recently divorced and the court documentation makes reference to an annual increase in the maintenance. I am struggling to find an answer as to how this is calculated and who instigates it. Can anyone help please?

I think it would be based on the CPI Consumer Price Index.
It is just to allow for inflation.

Does the Court order itself specify what Index is to be used ?

Also :

1. From what date does the annual increase take effect
2. What month's figures are to be used as the basis for a review of the maintenance payable in the following year.

Think not but am still waiting for some of the financial paperwork to come through, having just received the Decree Absolute.
1. increase date was 28th July and thus has passed
2. No idea what month's figures are to be used.

Am beginning to suspect that I am due some more detail and documentation. My solicitor is proving to be very slow and unresponsive!
