What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Could anybody give me a rough idea of what i might get (or not get!) from my divorce settlement.

Im divorving x2b on adultery.

Im currently living with parents, have girlfriend who owns her own home, stay 3-4 nights a week. No plans to move in yet
Im earning £15k (mature student/working)
No savings, no pension, pay maintanence for 3 year old daughter (15%)

x2b is on maternity leave earns about £35k
No pensions
She joint owns a property worth £250k with her current partner, currently having about £30k worth of refurbishment done (they recently had a child)
We sold our marital home March 07 - equity £35k
I had not seen any of this money (mortgage in her name), but i did pay utility, food etc but she saying the money has all gone, Im not so sure!! - Im wondering if she used some of it as a deposit for current home.

We were married for just under 4 years.

Divorce proceedings are just starting but wondering if I will be entitled to any of equity.
As she has moved on and set up home with new partner and im still at my parents(no chance of getting any type of mortgage on £15k!!!
If i am entitled to a share of any equity, will courts instruct her to pay me now or will i have to wait

Cheers
