buying house pre divorce was created by Jezeroo

My wife and I want to divorce. We are living together.

If she moves out from the family home and buys a property to live in, and has it in her own name prior to divorce will it be counted as a joint asset?

Thanks, Jeremy

How will she finance the purchase?

Unless she has a deposit from a third party source (ie inheritance that has been kept separate) it would be included in the marital pot. It would need to be declared regardless but could be argued out depending on how it is funded.
