What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi - I am trying to think one step ahead here. FDR coming up - but if things are not resolved will updated bank statements, updated schedule of assets and updated form E's be required prior to final hearing. I am subject to some gamesmanship from the ex's solicitor, and if things are not resolved next week I think I will apply to the court to request directions for them to set there information out correctly..

I’ve got my final hearing in a few weeks and the order at FDR said we each had to serve on the other, updated disclosure by 2 weeks prior to the hearing to include all bank etc statements, since the last statement was disclosed, P60s, pay slips since P60, tax returns or assessments since form E, and documents evidencing income and liabilities

thanks M2020 - I suspected that would be the case, but thanks for clarifying. Good luck for your final hearing.
