What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

ten years :ohmy:luckily I don't think even his x2b would draw it out that long (I hope), she needs the cash.

@Vail: I bit confused (not enough coffee yet), wouldn't they still factor in allowing her to have money towards a pension even if she didn't have a claim on his pension?

Hi Random
It may be very important not to go throguh with the D.A as like Vail said the legal status of being a spouse ends here and from a penson point of view your partner may no longer beneit from a widow's pension etc. But he may want to get the D.A through so that you can be nominated for such things as his Death in Service benefit and any othe pension benefits. Is the financial side of things quite strightforward? or are they likely to drag on? I am an Independent Financial Adviser who is 4 years post divorce and I have used my own expereince to specialise in advising divorcing clients. If I can help at all pleases let me know

Hello Neo

So what about the men in divorce??

Do you not like to see them get a fair settlement?? There are plenty on here being skinned alive probably 60%Men to 40% women or 70/30 or even 90/10???? I think a few on here will understand where I am coming from!! I know my partner nearly lost the lot and where was he supposed to get help at the age of 61 to re-house himself???

Are you a female financial adviser in the guise of a male or do you like dealing with females because you see them as easy prey?

Are you on here to advertise your wares or do you need divorce advice?? I wouldn't think so if you are 4 years down the line..........nice business to be in eh? Selling re-mortgages, equity release etc.

This is a website for people who need divorce advice, please accept it as such and not a free site to advertise your business. I admit some may need financial advice and there are many on here who are able to give it but do not use it to advertise their websites free of charge.

Kind regards
