What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My wonderful stbx is working for his new partner as her groom. Therefore he has no earnings! The way it works is she is then able to train more pupils and have more schooling liveries and therefore her income goes up and he is paid in kind(!!)
So where does this leave me with child support.

I can estimate what it would cost to pay someone to do what he does - but is that taken into account?

Also any advice on how soon to involve the CSA? Wondered given how nasty he can get whether to wait until after the divorce is finalised!

Hi,

Just a thought Taylr!
I wonder what the stbx' new partner declares as legitimate business costs, eg employees wages, when she fills out her tax assessment.

Would the CSA be able to access this info?, seeing as the CSA and HM Revenue and Customs all part of same Government Dept.

I always believe 'what goes around comes around' so keep positive for you and your children.

Regards
Seren

Good point - but doubt she declares him! I know as a fact she gets paid cash as often as pos and puts as little through the books as possible.
