What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

If anyone can give me their thoughts on this I would appreciate it very much...
My stbx left me in July... seems he'd been having an affair...
He wiped out our joint finances when he went...
He does contract work.... and a letter from his sol around a month ago stated that he expected his contract on this particular job to last around another 12 months...
However, a couple of days ago, his P45 arrived at our home (he doesn't live here)...it says his last day of work was 30/11...
Now....I don't trust my STBX one iota... and he has done everything to try to hide assets since he left, including claiming to have lost approx 20K gambling (yeah right!!!!)
Could he....
have gone 'Ltd' ?
changed to another company, opened a new bank account for his wages, and not tell anyone (even his sol) ?

If (for once) it is actually the truth, and he has been 'paid off'.... will he have to show that he is receiving any sort of benefits, such as jobseekers allowance, housing benefit etc?

Many thanks for taking the time to read..
