What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi

Just after some help. My wife has just a had baby with her partner, will it make any difference to the split. We have two children of our own that both live with wife and partner in our home. Also is there any way I can get finacial disclosure from her partner as her solicitor is saying he refuses to disclose, apart from court?

Thanks

Stewart

Short answer to both questions, no. :(

However, if your wife is cohabiting her need will be less because her housing and living costs are shared with her partner.
