Hello.

Me and my Ex are judicially separated. When she first started all our proceeding she was demanding £5,000 from me because as a small fee from our matrimonial home. I didn''t agree with this so we then went for mediation. After I went to my first session she cancelled mediation, as she then felt there were no financial issues to discuss.

i have since received a letter from her solicitor saying she is now applying for divorce and she wishes to enter into a Clean Break Consent Order.

I have since also received the divorce petition. My problem is that in Part 10 the Financial Order she has ticked all the boxes in the section?

I don''t understand why she has done this, when she wants to have a clean break? is this normal? Also I have not received nothing about a clean break? Is she trying to con me??

It is usual to tick all the boxes to keep all the options open. It doesn''t mean your wife will pursue them all.

A clean break is when there is a court order settling the finances on divorce so that spouses cannot make claims against each other in the future.
