What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

There is 15 k left of inheritance. Inc in above figures.

As 35k of saving in my name im not entitled to benefits. (fair enough).. Get cb & 200 tax credits. Living off savings at present.

I have another uni child coming to live bck home. Have looked at downsizing but add up. moving costs. School transport etc not worthwhile.

Stbx has kept back some of the inheritance approx 40k, not included in the figures and has spent substantial savings since separation. Bout 15k. More than me unemployed and. Him 52k salary.... Definitely not declared every thing and has been told to do so.

Maybe be best to go to court for investigation otherwise missing funds are not included.

Hi sim, I suppose costs of going to hearing are at the back of my mind & weighing this up. My legals said you can never be sure what a judge will decide! &have been surprised themselves at times. Also there is a new judge so they can''t gauge his. likely decision. It''s ike deal or no deal!

The hearing if I wait will be sept now & fed up living in limbo.
