What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Hello all. I am a newbie, did my introduction in wrong place a week ago, then found the right place, a Litagant In Person ergo: self repping! Also a Forum numptie! Got no chance have I! LOL! Been off a few days, despite replying to posts just offering support when I first joined, last weekend.

Not dared enter in here since then...
since I didn''t realise I''d hijacked someone''s ''thread'' with one long post of mine, though I had only replied originally only to try to be supportive to her: but I got carried away and I can see how I may have hijacked her ''thread'' and should have posted that ''bit'' of my story on - what is it, a ''thread of my own''?

I''ll just ping this off now in the hope it starts a new thread about MPS. Apologies: I see - now I have had the time to navigate the site that who ever it was, you did have valid reasons to think I was hijacking your thread and as an exceptionally polite person, that is why I have stayed away from this whole site in case I get the same response again. My confidence now at using this site is at an all time low, to have made a ''faux pas'' re forum etiquette. Never been in one before.

Least I learnt not to make the aame error of plonking myself in someones ''thread'' I know not to do that again! Thanks who ever it was who told me I was doing so.
let''s see if this will ping off under new ''thread''.

I''ll see if this goes to new topic, or whatever it is. Start a ''thread'' of my own''. Beginnimg to see how to get around this place now I''ve had time fro last hour.. I suppose this should be regarded as first post in here about MPS: I just hope it starts as new thread. And doesn''t land on/on anyone else''s. A success call-out would be nice, so q is is theis where I start new thread and anyone care to disciss issues pertaining to this?

Hi Bereft

Don''t worry about having posted your question on some else''s thread. The main reason why we suggest that people start their own thread with their own question is so that you can get the advice and help for your own specific situation/question.

To answer your question, yes this is where you start a new thread, and you have done, so you can use this thread to ask any questions you have relating to MPS (which is the title of your post).

If you have any questions about using the site, or site navigation, just ask :)

I made the same mistake first time round ... now i wouldn''t be without the help and support I have received here ...

Each time you have a question start a new thread with a clear title in the most appropriate forum.
