What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

After 15 months of non negotiation and enormous legal expense, a 2 day final hearing which resulted in.............
The judge going on holiday for 2 weeks and deciding he will return his judgement in 3!!!!!!!:(
Next week final hearing for contact, even more stress as stbx will not accept our daughters wish to see each of us each weekend, and wants alternate, so he can play golf & go to the footie!
I''m stuck in FMH, which is for sale, so viewings as often as possible mean constant cleaning and trying to remain sane.
Stbx on the other hand, having already disposed of significant family monies securing himself a luxury flat and furnishing it, complete with 55 inch telly, gets on with life.
Even though this is a tough time I still feel better than I ever did when I was married to him.
I pity his next hostage, all her tomorrow''s will be my yesterday''s
It has to get better, doesn''t it ?

It''s not that uncommon for judges to take a month to tell you what''s what, not that it helps you in anyway what so ever :(but yes it does get better, the fact that almost all members of wiki leave is a good sign, once you do have the result let us all know, till then be well and be posative, :)
