What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Arh...... no I haven''t, have heard of it obviously.

Still I do know quite a bit about unusual sexual preferences - I lived with a real pervert for many years.

My ex was totally addicted to porn and in the usual way of a real addict he used to attempt to disguise his habit but towards the end of the relationship was watching porn for up to 8 hours at a time.

I know that grey book isn''t quite the same and is in the erotica catagory - porn is a problem at the level of adiction (and also depends for what reason they got addicted) as it is harder to come off apparently than heroine as it releases nature endorphines and you need harder and harder porn to give you your kick (also depends on your motivation for watching it).

I have become quite interested in criminology as a result of my divorce.

Hi,

I have rung the Court and he has made an application despite saying that he is in favour of mediation.

The file is going before the Judge, when they have hauled it out of the cellar, and a decision will be made as to whether there is a case to be heard.

I presume he will represent himself and so will I.

Is there someone here that I can PM some figures to so that I could have some idea as to whether I should pursue this as I don''t want to end up with reduced/ no SM and a costs bill.

Many thanks x

He needs to supply you with a full copy of his application and supporting evidence.

You need to supply and file as a defence your figures and the previous orders. You should also prepare a statement regarding previous proceedings and your understanding of what happened and what was said by the judge.

That information should be on file as the judges notes in any case.

If he will not comply or respond to your requests I would phone the court helpline and ask them if they can supply you with a copy or what you need to do to get him to comply with proceedure.

You need time to consider his claim and at the same time he needs time to consider your counter defence.

Its not uncommon for the person applying to vary to serve almost nothing, court tend to take little interest if they do or don`t, what really matters are the numbers used in court, in this case he is thinking of reducing hours at work, he hasn''t though which means he is still earning the same money, meaning the application will probably fail.

If you want to send some numbers ill take a look.
