What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi Im just completing financial info on Consent Order and I cant get a valuation on my pension for 3 months.Ive only had it 6 years and it wont be worth that much. We were almost complete with divore/house payout etc but now it looks like this will delay everything.

Can I just leave it blank if I dont know the info? Will my solicitor wait until the consent order is complete to tranfer my payment from the house to my ex? Or can he have the money beforehand. He''s in a bit of debt and Im keen for him to clear this as its affecting the children and what he does with them.

Any advice appreiated asap!
