Hi, i have my FDR hearing in a few weeks time and i am at the stage where proposals are being sent in order to resolve financial matters.
Part of the proposal put forward by my ex is that following sale of the marital home i will pay the arrears. I agree with this and said as such but afterwards it occurred to me that i should have said i agree to the arrears to date and that i should have put an amount. It is my feeling that ex would just allow the arrears to escalate otherwise.
I rectified this by adjusting the proposal i had emailed ex''s solicitor and asked for the amended proposal to be sent on and the one i had sent earlier in the day to be withdrawn.
Can anyone tell me if this was the correct thing to do.
Offer was made without prejudice.
Seems right to me bearing in mind the offer is going into an FDR hearing, you need to amend any offer you believe not to be realistic the moment you understand it is not acheiveable or may be disadvantageous.
