What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

Hello All,

I wanted to ask a question, I went for my 1st Hearing, the Judge wants my Husband to provide to me by the 10th Oct a Valuation of land property in the Caribbean, my Husband lives there, now the Judge has said that if I do not agree with his Valuation we can either jointly pay for a Surveyor or I can instruct the Court to arrange this, now does anyone know how the Court would arrange this being land property is in the Caribbean.

I know my Husband will under value and out there it is so corupt that if he was to pay someone they will say what he wants them to say.

Very confused

Paula

Court don`t arrange valuation but the judge can order a proposed valuer be used, so you need to find one.

It sounds like you are describing an order for a joint valuation, and in default of agreement as to the valuer, the valuers identity will be imposed by the court. It will still be for you and your husband to instruct (and pay for) the valuer.

Is there a particular form I need to get from the Court for them to do this?
