Two weeks ago my stbx sent a message via our daughter saying he would be stopping all payments to me now she has started uni.

I contacted him and asked if we could discuss this as I have only 608 pound per month pension now all benefits for daughter have stopped.

He said he would get back to me when he had seen a solicitor. I have not heard a thing since and I have an appointment with my solicitor Wednesday. Should I contact him again or just press on with an MPS claim.

Any thoughts.

You need to post more details of incomes and outgoings for each of you.

My income is 7209 per year. Out goings are 800 per month on mortgage etc before food.

Stbx approx 40000 per year, don''t know his outgoings as he says he is staying with friends of OW because she is claiming tax credits for children.

We have been seperated 3 years and I do not know his address as he is not allowed contact with me on orders of OW.

I am 55 he is 50.

Hi Julie,

You have already given him the courtesy of contacting him, he has not got back to you. Tomorrow is your appointment with your solicitor, crack on with your application for MPS. There is little point waiting for him and allowing him to use delaying tactics.

The problem will be how to contact him if you don''t know his address.

Other questions that may spring to mind:

how much was he paying you before and on what basis? Was it CM or did he pay extra?

If you were able to support yourself for the last three years has something changed?

I assume from your post about pension that you are not currently working. Are you seeking work or is there a reason why you can''t?

Are you just seeking MPS until house is sold and assets divided or will you be seeking spousal maintenance?

Thankyou NWTT, the only problem I have is I do not have an address for him. I know where OW lives but I fear writing to0 her address would make things worse.
