If financial proceedings have not yet commenced, threatening you with an application to court for exchange of form E is without merit.

If this is the situation I would write to the solicitor telling them that they are in breach of the solicitors code of conduct as they are threatening you with action which is not possible without proceedings and they are seeking to gain an unfair advantage from a litigant in person.
