What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

The calculator on here? Does the maintenance to be paid stated include child maintenance or is it on top of child maintenance?

Wouldn’t take much stock of maintenance figures in the calculator. Calculate child maintenance using the government site. Spousal maintenance is getting rarer and entirely dependent on need and ability to pay and the calculator isn’t wise enough to know the changes in the legal system that drive those rules now
